BCS manages goods in
the loading, collection and delivery bays. With it come wireless scanners for
the warehouse and off-line scanners for the vehicles. Time sensitive status
information can be sent immediately via SMS (short messaging system), whilst other information, such as
the signature of the recipient, can be read once the vehicle returns to the
depot.
The system also contains a so called „Leitstandsprogramm“ with which loading and unloading can be monitored and directed.
The barcode solution communicates via interfaces with different transport software solutions. It assumes the transport application complies with regard to the principle and that BCS functions with the collico ideal.
Based on NVE-Collico
numbers (KDN- and IDS-Collico- numbers are likewise certified) scanned data
readings can be taken at a total of nine measurement points for the purpose of
collico and consignment traceability, and be relayed at each respective stage of
transport.
To be to access the
most up-to-date information, the data is arranged in the shortest possible time
intervals.
In this system, normal practice is to scan the collico numbers. In certain cases where this is not suitable, it is possible to scan other identification numbers.
If information on the
situation of a collico at one measurement point is taken and there has been no
information reconciled at previous measurement points, a „self-correcting“
mechanism comes into force:
A collico which is
scanned at the groupage dispatch measurement point, will be classed as unloaded
if there is no local or long distance unloading scanning data.
