LMS - warehousing
|

|
The most successful standard principles in the
transport industry will again and again be undermined by the warehousing
function due to the variety of influencing factors such as, the construction,
sitting and layout of the building or availability of the right kind of support
to cater to the warehouse customer’s needs.
The DINAS Warehouse Management software LMS, therefore, mainly concentrates on
providing a base from which each individual warehousing solution can be modified
and tailored to suit specific requirements.
LMS:
- is a multi-capable dialog solution, compatible
with UNIX, SCO-UNIX, LINUX, MS-DOS, Novell, OS/2, Windows, Windows-NT,
Win2000, Win-XP and AS/400 and is in operation in more than 15 practical
situations
- has a highly functional
degree of coverage with programs which have been successfully tested in practice (i.e. security with
reference to product quality through proven and tested programs)
- offers a guaranteed modification, up-date and customer
support service via the special DINAS service package
- has been on the market since 2001.
LMS supports the following functions:
- Invoicing, group or
preference orientated
- the FIFO principle
- bin location
management for racked, block and structured block warehousing systems
- MHD-development
- The possibility for
the warehouse to assume responsibility of customer delivery documents and
orders
- The possibility for
the warehouse to assume responsibility for the issue of delivery notes and
ability to pass them on to the haulier
- The usage of a
common address database within the transport industry
- Source data per
article and per warehouser with individual article identification
- Administration of container numbers
- Barcode development
- Storage cost
reconciliation
- Variety of warehouse
movement reports
There are many data
exchange program possibilities:
- Orders
- Goods inwards
delivery notes
- Despatch documents
- Inventory reports
and
- Returned
goods reports
At LMS, information can be transferred from LMS, to
LMS based warehouse systems and also, to and from non-LMS based
warehouse systems. This enables EDIFACT-, XML- and structured customer formats
to be used. By using an additional, available interface, it is possible to
produce other transport documentation direct from the despatch documentation.
